Mr. Chad Higdon, conductor

Chad Higdon, director of bands at Andrews Middle School and Andrews High School, in Andrews NC, received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Appalachian State University. During his eight years of teaching, Mr. Higdon's groups have received 6 superior ratings at North Carolina Bandmaster Association's concert band festival, 2 Superior ratings at NCBA Jazz Festival, and numerous superior ratings at marching band festivals and competitions in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Under his direction, the Andrews High School Jazz Band plays a wide variety of music including funk, bebop, and music from the swing era.

Mr. Higdon is a sought-after clinician and judge for marching band, concert band, jazz band, beginning band, and percussion. He is a member of the following professional organizations: Phi Mu Alpha, North Carolina Band Masters Association, Music Educators' National Conference, and Percussive Arts Society.

Chad Higdon is a native to Cherokee County NC, and an alumnus of Hiwassee Dam High School.
